Olexi joined Bankwatch in 2000 as International energy coordinator, working with decision makers, the international NGO community and the media. He coordinated nuclear energy related activities within the network.

Since 2004 Olexi has been responsible for Bankwatch's work in the Central Asian region. He assists local groups in their work with the IFIs, campaigns and runs advocacy work.

Olexi received his MA at the European Postgraduate Course on Environmental Management (University of Amsterdam) and a Master of Science degree in Analytical Chemistry from Kiev state university. He has carried out scientific research and lecturing on Environmental Impact Assessments at the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy".
